I moved in about 6 months ago. When I first came to see about Carriage Place the staff was very welcoming. Then when I moved in the few things that I found wrong were fixed almost immediately; the maintenance guys are awesome! The Carriage Place staff was a major deciding factor in choosing to stay here, which is further away from my work than my other option. It's nice to know that I'm staying at a place where the staff actually cares about their residents. Overall I feel like it's a pretty safe area, that sits towards the outside of town. There is a nice park within walking distance with much to do for both kids and adults. Huntington is a small town, but not too far from Fort Wayne. I really haven't had any negative experiences thus far. Any problems I have had have been resolved quickly. The staff is not afraid to step up and resolve issues when needed. Carriage Place has become more than just a place to stay. It's a home.
The living experience at Carriage Place changed drastically following a change of staff. Problems with the apartments, such as heating and cooling, either go unfixed or are 'fixed' in such a way that the problem is not resolved but maintenance is able to claim they addressed the problem. Routine maintenance, such as changing the filters for the furnace, is no longer completed, either. The administrative staff does not seem to understand how some of these issues need to be resolved and so blindly relies on what they are told by their maintenance supervisor. Overall a very disappointing experience, and I'd recommend looking at any other apartment complex in the area before signing a lease here.
My husband and I moved into carriage Place Apartments a little over a month ago and we love it here! It is a great little community not far from anything but secluded enough to make you feel like your smack dab in the center of town. It's very quiet and the staff is amazing! I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. :)
Recently the administration has changed and the whole experience of living at Carriage Place Apartments has diminished. There are a lot of hidden fees when you move out and some of the things i was charged for I didn't even know i had to clean or made aware of. The apartments are nice, but at a higher rate than others in the area for not that much of a benefit. If you are looking for a place to live, i wouldn't even put this on your list to look at.
This place used to be good until the apartment staff started neglecting the place. We have been struggling with heating issues for months and keep getting blown off when we ask it to be fixed. Our furnace shuts off and the temperature of our apartment will drop. We have to reset the furnace to get it going again. The furnace has singe marks on the outside where we assume it caught fire at one point. Our furnace filter is supposed to be changed by the apartment monthly and is changed every six months; it was only changed the last time because we lost heat. Our refrigerator freezes food on the top shelf in the back so we can't keep anything there and the window seals are bad. We haven't bothered to mention these last two issues since we get blown off all the time about other issues. Just a horrible place to live.
